Why do I need a mask?

Masks have now been recommended by the CDC and local and state governments for day to day use in public areas. Masks are not a substitute for isolation and social distancing, nor can they prevent the spread of viruses however studies have shown the use of masks can slow or reduce the risk of infection or transmission. Will this mask prevent Covid-19? 

The short answer is NO. 
Studies have shown that masks can help to slow or reduce the risk of transmission or infection of viruses. This mask is not a substitute for isolation and social distancing. Please read the recommendations set by the CDC and research your local and state guidelines for the prevention of Covid-19.

What are they made of? 

The Great Cover Up uses only natural fibers such cotton on the inside layer closest to your skin. The lining or 2nd layer is non-woven fabric which helps create a barrier or filter for the air to pass. The outside layer is a heavier cotton or blended fabric choice for design and color.

 

What size mask should I order? 

We have made numerous prototypes and have improved our shape, quality and size set from the data we gathered. Our masks come in 4 sizes, Large, Medium, Small and Extra Small. Typically the Large fits most adults men, the Medium fits most adult women, the Small fits teens and older children and the Extra Small fits younger children and toddlers. We have had each age group test and try our prototypes so we are confident that our masks will provide a good fit while providing the comfort needed to keep them on and in place. 
Please note we CANNOT accept returns or exchanges due to the nature of the current virus. Please review all details about the mask prior to purchase to ensure you have chosen the correct size.. 
There are straps available in the marketplace that could further help secure and hold in place masks that might need additional support.

 

Can I wash these? 

Our products are easy to take care of and can be treated just as any other accessory in your wardrobe. 

Washing instructions: Machine wash in cold with like colors. Tumble dry on low or hang dry. Line drying in the sun is an environmentally friendly substitute. Washing masks after each use or frequently is recommended for disinfecting purposes.

 

 What’s inside of them? 

Our masks are made of 3 layers of fabrics. The inside is a non-woven fusing, which is applied to the inside layer of fabric. 

 

 Can I work out with the mask? 

Follow the latest advice of the CDC and your own health care professionals on how to keep yourself safe during your day to day routine and work out schedule. The mask is a face covering designed to slow or reduce the risk of transmission or infection of viruses. They should not be used by anyone with skin sensitivities or anyone who has trouble breathing or who is unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance. 

 

Do I need a filter? 

Our masks are 3 layers that provide a basic face covering for those in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.* Filters are predominantly needed for those who live and work in areas with higher than acceptable levels of air pollution.
